Fly Away.
Fly Away was the challenge for this year. I wanted to enter the 2010 Hoffman Challenge again. And with the aqua colored fabric that was chosen by Hoffman Fabrics to be the challenge fabric for this year, I was completely in my element. This fabric contained so many combination possibilities that it was almost a celebration to sew this quilt.
The inspiration for this quilt came from a girl that was blowing bubbles: By the transparent, sparkling bubbles you see the reflection of the sun and the soap bubbles are floating behind each other when they fly away. | Take a look at the quilt >

Catch me if you can.
When I was making the quilt: Elements of Nature for the 2009 Hoffman Challenge, I was really at a loss what to do.
When you take a look at Elements of Nature you will understand why this quilt was causing so much trouble! I am not really into beige and brown…
I love colors….lots of colors…. For me it cannot be colored enough!
At that time I already knew that I would make this quilt again, but then in “my” colors…. Red, orange yellow, aqua, cobalt blue, lime green......
I have adjusted the design a little in order to have more movement from the center of the quilt. Of course, this quilt should not be lacking a chequered board border and together with the black and white stripe this quilt has become a feast for the eyes. Your eyes keep following the flying geese lines and the spikes that seem to run beneath the circles and then disappear again…. Catch me if you can… | Take a look at the quilt >
